Remodeling Costs in Spokane– 2015 Cost Versus Value Report
Thinking about installing a new entry door? According to this year's Cost Vs. Value report, do it! You'll likely get your money back, and some, when you sell. Or how about a home office remodel? Probably not worth it…you'll likely never recoup your cost. In fact, you'd beat the odds if you recouped even half of your investment at sale.
Making wise financial decisions with your home investment is made easier with the Cost vs Value Report, released yearly by Remodeling Magazine. The data is gathered from a large survey, comparing the jobs costs of various remodels with Realtor insights into what those jobs add to the home's future sales price. While financial return is not the only contributing factor in remodeling, it does help to understand the bottom line.
Fortunately, we are in the Pacific Northwest, which enjoys the highest cost-value ratio in the nation! We can expect much better returns on remodeling investments, than say, the Mid-Atlantic States (74% return on sale vs. 47% return on sale).
What other projects, besides a replacement entry door, have high rates of return in Spokane? Minor kitchen remodels are expected to return 84%, a new garage door at 86.2% and adding a stone veneer to the exterior of the home anticipates a 97.6% return!
